Gabriela’s Story

“TenS chose me.” Thus begins the interview with our candidate Gabriela, from distant Argentina, who wanted to try her luck outside Spain, where she had lived in recent years.

Gabriela tells us that although she loves Spain in all its forms, she wanted to “feel abroad”. Also, she wasn’t happy with the job options our country offered her, so she decided to try her luck abroad.

When the trial with T&S began, our candidate felt the most common fears, because “no one assures you that everything will be real”. However, she was not afraid or distrusted of our services. In this, our international recruiter Yan had a lot to do with this.

Yan accompanied her throughout the procedure: “he was very kind and attentive, the trust he gave me was what pushed me to make the leap”.

The moment of landing on Dutch land was a whirlwind of emotions: she left a life behind to start another completely different and alone.

As she tells us, the arrival was very chaotic, as communication with the courier was not easy at all as she did not speak English. We will certainly work to improve this service.

He tells us that he is happy with his home, which he shares with a Polish couple and a Venezuelan girl. While this is true, she tells us that while they are polite and clean people, they have very different customs. She would like them to bring together people of the same nationality or similar cultures, because living together would be more enjoyable.

As for work, which he gets to walk every day, he feels very comfortable. Although the Dutch are more distant, they are all very friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming.

But the best thing is the group you created with your collaborators: “I met very good and deserving people”. The Canary Islands, Ecuador and Argentina are the places of origin of his new friends, of his new family.

On the other hand, what he misses most about Spain are the people. That salt cellar that we Spaniards have. The ability to talk to anyone. And it is that, for her, the culture shock is very strong.

Finally, even if some details like the planning or the transportation problem would change, Gabriela recommends this experience.

And you? Would you like to have a similar experience? We will be happy to welcome you so that you enjoy the same opportunity as Gabriela. Don’t wait any longer!

Laura’s Story

Laura, a native of Sevilla and with a typical joy of her city, tell us about her experience in Holland. Laura was working in Sevilla, but her conditions were not satisfied. Details such as not to charge for the hours in which she has overtime, for a significant reason in her decision to move from her dining room.

So, in search of offers at InfoJobs, she found a vacancy to work in the Netherlands at TenS Holland. Happily, Laura has friends in the Netherlands, who have decided that she needed to do the bad things and live this experience.

She confesses that before landing, she had fears and doubts. She assumed that she was going to be all very negative and that she had to be strong. When she arrived, she was the opposite.

She highlights that she feels supported by the agency and that she has been very lucky with the people she has found there.

The first two weeks she had bad luck with her roommates, who did not respect the basic rules of coexistence. These were expelled and since then she lives with what she calls her family there. They are a group of friends who do everything together and help each other.

About her goals, Laura tells us the following: “My goal was to be very long-term, start a new life and grow. Finding accommodation in Holland is very difficult, but the agency helps a lot and with transport too. It is the push that you need to get started. “

She has never considered going back and having previously lived in London for a year, she quickly adapted to a similar culture in terms of food and sleep schedules.

In the workplace, Laura tells us that she has one week in the morning and the next one in the afternoon. He likes this because she allows him to organize and also, she allows him to have the weekends free. She also confesses to us that work is very tiring and there are days that it costs her a bit.

The positive is that her salary is good, she works at least 40 hours a week, they pay her overtime and they are happy with her.

Right now, she prioritizes enjoying this time there, than the mere fact of saving.

Finally, she summarizes for us a normal weekend there with her friends. On Fridays they usually meet after work to have a drink and disconnect from work. On Saturday morning they clean up what they have stained the day before, pack their backpacks and go on a group excursion and discover the beauty of the Netherlands. Finally, on Sunday they make what they call: “family meal”. They all meet together and each one brings a meal to share with the rest. Isn’t it fantastic?

Sara’s Story

Sara is very nice and pleasant at the beginning of the interview to tell us about her experience in the Netherlands.

She chose this country to experience the adventure for various reasons. At first, she considered going to Germany, but the agencies she found did not give her enough confidence to make the decision for her.

On the Internet, she found TenS Holanda, and after reading her reviews, she decided to write in various Facebook groups made up of Spaniards in the Netherlands. She posted a message seeking opinions about the agency and many candidates who are there told her that they were happy and received good treatment from the agency.

This was essential for Sara to decide to live this adventure with us.

All of the above happened 3 years ago, then she returned to Spain and four months ago she decided that she had to live the same experience again.

Her objectives have always been: to grow financially, improve the language and live the experience.

To this day, she confirms to us that she arrived with zero English and now she speaks it fluently every day. She is also trying to learn Dutch, although she admits to us that it is complicated and at the moment she is picking up words.

As for the workplace, Sara is very happy. She started in a company where she was not very motivated either, but then we offered to change to another company and she could not be more satisfied with the change. Now, she goes every day to work with her friend Laura hers (previously interviewed).

They go to work by car, although she later uses a bicycle to do the shopping and tour the city.

On her days off, Sara tells us that they have had barbecues with friends, they also go shopping or just go for a drink downtown.

In short, she confirms that she has adapted very quickly to her country and culture, that she has not thought of returning to Spain for a season and she always recommends this experience to her friends, with whom she would be delighted to share this adventure.

We greatly appreciate that you have volunteered to conduct this interview and we sincerely hope that everything continues to go just as well.

Mario’s Story

Mario from Lanzarote was looking for a job opportunity that never came. At that time some of his friends traveled to Holland to work and that prompted him to look for work abroad.

He was so eager that he did the interview on a Thursday and by Tuesday he was already there ready to work.

Mario confesses to us that at the beginning he did not have all the confidence in the world and he was counting on the fact that he could come back at any moment if it went wrong.

He remembers how the day before the flight, due to the speed of the events, he still did not have the information about picking him up at the airport or the exact point. This made for a bit of an agonizing day for him, but the next morning he already had all the information.

When he landed in the Netherlands, he arrived at his accommodation and had nothing to shower. At that moment, the one who is now his friend, Fran, appeared. Without hesitation, she lent him soap and deodorant and told him that whatever he needed he was there.

Since then, every time a new person arrives, Mario tries to receive them with the same affection that they received him.

His goals at the beginning of this experience were to spend as little as possible and save as much money as possible. Now, after a while he confesses to us that she has changed a bit and gives himself a whim.

His current goal is to be able to spend as long as possible in the Netherlands and he is even considering buying a car to have greater independence.

As for work, he highlights how automated, advanced and modern his company is. He is proud to be part of such a sophisticated company. He has recently changed departments and the change is not convincing him, although there is always a period of adaptation that can make you feel better in the future.

Regarding the Dutch culture, he is delighted and has even gotten used to their meal times. On breaks from work at 12:00 he usually eats and that makes him want to have dinner early.

Before arriving he expected it to be a bit boring, but he has been surprised that there is more atmosphere than he imagined.

Finally, he proposes that they build a soccer field in Workinn’s accommodations so that new candidates can socialize more quickly, meet people from other countries through sports and even organize small Sunday league matches. An initiative that will be taken into account.

We want to thank Mario for his time in the interview, it has been a pleasure to hear your experience and we hope that everything continues to go as well as it has been up to now.
