You are living this experience as if it were a vacation to get to know each other and discover more of his passion. So much so that he plans to stay for a while and train at the University of Tilburg in this field. Noteworthy!

opinion trabajar en Holanda

Sometimes you have to insist to find your job, Borja tried to go to work in the Netherlands in 2018 but, finally, it was not possible. Due to unemployment in Spain, he remembered that desire to work abroad and started looking for offers on InfoJobs.

Borja, applied to the offer and confessed that he was convinced that it would not happen like the last time, he knew it was his time to work in Holland. Here we tell you the story of him.

As Borja well believed, he overcame the interviews and the travel date was approaching. As the day approached, he became more nervous and tells us the following: “I was thinking about the plane and I got nervous, it was the uncertainty of what the future held for me. I come from Gran Canaria and I had never left home ”.

Everything got complicated when, on landing in Holland, his suitcase was lost at the airport. At that moment Borja was feeling really bad, but from our agency we were able to help him with all the necessary documents to solve the problem. Borja is very grateful in this regard.

Once the problem was solved, he was able to concentrate fully on his goals: saving money, gaining independence and, above all, living the experience.

As for the work, he is very happy and describes it as “another world”. He points out the working conditions that he assures us are better than those in Spain in similar jobs. He likes the treatment he gets and the respect for the 3 breaks he has. He considers himself lucky.

Xavier’s Story

Sometimes fate is responsible for returning us to the place where we felt comfortable. Something like this was what happened to our candidate Xavier, who almost by coincidence of fate ended up back in Holland, where he tells us he is happy and satisfied. This is the story of him!

Xavier was already familiar with the experience of working in the Netherlands and had seen the benefits of living there. However, the pandemic disrupted this Dutch life and he had to return to Spain to be with his family.

After several months of looking for a job in Spain and various work difficulties, Xavier had clear ideas: he wanted to return to the Netherlands to work. Suddenly, by the art of fate, a friend facilitated one of our job offers and Xavier didn’t think twice, he decided to relive the experience, but this time with TenS Holanda.

Xavier knew what it was like to work there and therefore was a little more confident, although of course he still had that initial uncertainty of not knowing what was going to happen. However, since his arrival, everything has been wonderful. He explains that he was curious from the beginning, because on his journey he met a guy who was also a candidate, with whom he now shares a house.

He explains that this is the best part of his experience of him: his accommodation. Xavier is in a house that he shares with five other Spaniards, with whom he has already established a great friendship, and who tells us that this makes his experience of him much more bearable and fun. In addition, this house is located in an idyllic natural setting, which makes him feel much more relaxed and comfortable, explaining how pleasant it is to get up and see the greenery. All of which makes your experience that much more satisfying, so he doesn’t miss his family that much.

Xavier's House

He is honest with us and explains that the work is sometimes a little hard, but it is something that you gradually get used to and that becomes more bearable each time. Furthermore, he doesn’t always have to work, and when he doesn’t, he takes the opportunity to rest, relax and do some sightseeing, explaining that it’s easy to visit Amsterdam or Rotterdam.

Thus, Xavier is realistic with us, he ensures that the experience has its own peculiarities, but that in general it is highly recommended. So much so that he intends to stay longer, and he even talks to us about a possible future in Holland. Be that as it may, Xavier is satisfied and grateful to TenS Holanda, plus he’s trying to get his friends to go there with him.

It’s wonderful to hear such positive stories like Xavier’s and we trust that she will continue to be good until she leaves. And you? Why don’t you be like Xavier and have a unique experience working in the Netherlands? Sign up now for one of our offers and change your life!

Armenio’s Story

Many times it is important to see things from new perspectives, choosing new points of view. Today’s experience, unlike others, focuses on a more adult and cultured vision, that of Armenio, a candidate who arrived in Holland 6 months ago and who wanted to tell us about his adventure.

Armenio, of Portuguese origin, was, due to the pandemic, immersed in a job market that excluded him in particular due to his age, 49 years. However, he did not want to give up and, holding on to the experience he already had abroad, he decided to try moving to the Netherlands, a country he knew and where he knew he expected a better future.

So, he started his job search there, and came across our company: TenS Netherlands, simply applying through the website and we quickly got in touch with him. He always trusted our services and felt confident in the decision he was making.

Armenio began his Dutch career as a Flexworker, working in several popular Dutch companies, gaining experience and improving his level of English. However, Armenio is realistic with us and under the honesty that characterizes him, he explains that the work is a bit tiring and monotonous. However, he doesn’t care, he’s happy and has adapted quickly. Also, although people are somewhat independent, he has established relationships with some and has been able to learn some Spanish. But he warns of the reality that he lives, even if he prefers it to the one he had in Portugal.

Moreover, the first few weeks Armenio resided with other colleagues in our quarters, and although he felt comfortable, it is true that his older age made his preferences and those of his companions different, thus resulting somewhat incompatible. However, Armenio was very independent and found his corner of him in the Netherlands, a large room in the center of Waalwijk, where he found the peace and quiet he needed. Though he assures us that meeting people his age would be great.

All these efforts have a reason: the affection he has for his wife, and in fact it is already known that love moves mountains, and in this case he has given Armenio this experience that he will soon share with his wife to start an idyllic life together in the Netherlands. How romantic!

So, although he misses the breeze of his country, day by day he moves forward in work and with his bicycle, of which he tells us that he had to get used to because at the beginning it was a bit difficult for him, something absolutely normal. . So, despite there being moments of all kinds, he doesn’t lose hope or intention to improve his situation and finally be able to share his days with his partner. We are sure he will be able to do it.

Armenio is the true example of the fact that he never has to give up, and how self-improvement and effort pay off very well. We are confident that their love story will finally come true, and we hope it is thanks to TenS Holland. And you? Would you also like to change your life and try the experience? Don’t think about it any more! Contact us and try a new opportunity in the Netherlands.

Patrick’s Story

Two years ago, Patrick was looking to work in the Netherlands when he discovered TenS Holanda and was very close to leaving. However, the opportunity appeared to him to work in Spain and therefore he decided to refuse this adventure.

More than 700 days later Covid appeared, and sadly, he lost his job. In that instant he remembered the opportunity to work in Holland that he had had about two years ago.

Patrick went to work and contacted us. Yan (recruiting consultant) guided him throughout the process until he went to the Netherlands.

Patrick with two friends.

He tells us that starting this adventure made him dizzy. He says that when you search the internet you will find everything, and he tells us the following: “when I arrived I realized that it is a defamation, from the first minute they told me that the accommodations are simple and usually the room is shared”.

Patrick never thought that he was promised a paradise, he assures that the agency has proposed some conditions, has accepted them and now he is happy to work there and feels supported. Especially with Yan, whom he describes as someone who is always ready to help you.

To show us this support from the agency, Patrick told us about an experience he lived shortly after his arrival.

When he arrived in the Netherlands, they gave him a bicycle so he could ride around. Patrick took the opportunity to take a walk with a friend of his and try it out. On the way, Patrick, who is 1.96 meters tall, was uncomfortable on the bike and called to change it.

After 15 minutes the bike delivery man came to give him one that best suited his height. But bad luck was about to put a strain on Patrick, when shortly after getting on this bike, the chain came loose. She called again to have his bike fixed and, in just 15 minutes, they were with him to fix his bike.

Patrick's bike

This fast and efficient service pleasantly surprised him.

On the other hand, he also highlighted his stay during the mandatory quarantine for all those who go to the Netherlands. He describes the house as a spacious and beautiful place, also as there were many Spaniards it was a lot of fun.

The agency provides a basic food package for each worker during the quarantine. He confirms that although it is a basic package, two weeks later he still had some unopened products. In addition, Patrick points out that they offered a vegetarian pack to one of his partners to fit his diet.

Finally, Patrick told us about the job. He tells us that the atmosphere is very pleasant, has fixed hours and a guaranteed minimum number of hours. At first the coaches taught him to work, and already on the second day they congratulated him for working at the same pace as the others.

Patrick tells us the following about his superiors: “Rare is the day when my bosses don’t tell me something positive, I have no room for more compliments”.

Patrick is increasingly convinced that he has found his place and wants to stay there and live.

At TenS Holanda, we want to thank you for your kindness during the interview and we hope you continue to achieve your goals.

Joselyn’s Story

Tired of the heat and the bad working situation she had in Spain, Joselyn, the candidate of our story today, has decided to change her life and start a new one in Holland, thanks to TenS Holanda. This is her story!

At 24, Joselyn’s life in Palma de Mallorca was a bit monotonous and simple. Like many young people, her work experience was interrupted by the pandemic crisis and tired of the Spanish system and the conditions it offered her, Joselyn felt the need for a change in her life. That change came from the hand of a friend of hers, who told her about the fantastic experience she was having in the Netherlands, and that’s how Joselyn came to us, being Elena (Recruitment Consultant at TenS Holanda) in charge of designing the whole his experience. Joselyn, seeing that both stories coincided, Elena’s and her friend’s, decided to give this experience with TenS Holland a chance.

Thus, she took the positivity that characterizes her and embarked on her journey. She was undoubtedly very anxious and looking forward to what she was waiting for, although let’s be honest, she had a slight fear of unknown things, which is quite logical. However, this feeling quickly disappeared, because since she arrived, except for a small incident on the first night, everything has been fantastic. Joselyn tells us that although she has a somewhat lonely personality and enjoys having fun with herself, she felt accompanied at all times, both by colleagues and by the friends she met there with whom she made a great friendship, as well as by Elena, who took care to make her feel covered and supported at all times.

What she likes most is work. She explains that she has nothing to do with Spain, that you learn a lot and that, although there are moments a bit more intense, her company takes care of listening to you, assisting you and always helping you. She acknowledges that every day is an adventure and that she never knows exactly what will happen, but explains that this is part of the experience, of the amount of training she is getting, because it also rotates in different positions, which makes it very bearable. In addition, she tells us that the atmosphere is very quiet, even if like in all places there is everything but she takes it with an excellent philosophy.

In her spare time, she Joselyn takes the opportunity to take her bicycle and go for walks in nature and in Waalwijk, enjoying the Dutch landscape. In addition, she and her friends went to see some cities she fell in love with, especially Rotterdam, which she remembers as a beautiful place.

So, she Joselyn explains to us that although she misses the sun and Spanish food, she has no plans to return anytime soon. He wants to continue living the experience and continue his journey through Holland, thanking TenS Holland for facilitating and ensuring this change he recommends, because you not only learn to live in a different way, but grow personally, leaving your area of comfort and gaining a lot of autonomy.

So, we are very happy to know that Joselyn still has a long way to go in the Netherlands and that it was all thanks to TenS Holanda. And you? Wouldn’t you like to have an experience like Joselyn’s? Contact us and change your life in the Netherlands!

Alejandro’s Interview

Why did you decide to choose TenS Holanda to go to the Netherlands / Why did you choose the Netherlands instead of another country?

I came to Holland with another agency, but I had already contacted TenS Holland before coming and also had an interview with you, but it was with another agency that I came with. Honestly, the best decision was to move to TenS Holland, Holland has always attracted my attention, it was always among the countries I wanted to visit and, when the opportunity arose, I took advantage of it.

How did you find us?

I was on the InfoJobs website looking like crazy for a job with no luck until I saw the offers to go to Holland and I thought: I can try.

Did you feel confident about the services we have offered you at all times?

I’ll be honest, I’m a very suspicious person but I felt safe from the start. The truth is that it seemed too good to me, but from the first contact with you I can say that you have always been very kind and attentive, you have always found the answer to every doubt and question and in this moment I can say that I trust this agency a lot .

Before going to the Netherlands, what were your goals? Did you satisfy him?

Well, look, I thought it was going to be a period of work, to save money and improve my English, but in addition to achieving these goals I have made a lot of friends here, which I didn’t expect.

Once there, how did you feel at first? Did you know how to adapt? Were you afraid? Have you thought about going back to your country?

For now, I feel very good, I feel fulfilled, the Dutch are very nice. My English is not very good and they do a lot to understand you, this is something I really appreciate because I have happened to travel to another country and speak in English and people made no effort to understand you.

The adaptation was very easy for me, the truth is that at the moment I have not had any problems and it is not the first time that I have moved to another country so I have had that experience.

I had planned to return to Tenerife in September / October of this year, but these two months with TenS Holland have made me rethink my future, I have not decided yet, but the scales are in favor of staying for a good season here in Holland .

Would you recommend this experience? Because?

Of course yes, because I think it’s a necessary experience to get to know another culture, learn a language and, equally, you earn quite well, it’s an incredible country, a lot in every sense and I think it’s really worth it.

What would you change today compared to your stay there? What do you miss most?

Without a doubt, the first thing I would change is the issue of coronavirus and restrictions, but it is clear that this is an issue that gets out of hand. I’d like to know what normal life is like in the Netherlands without the coronavirus, so I’m planning on staying longer than expected.

For the rest I would not change anything about my stay, what I miss most undoubtedly are friends and family as I think is logical.

How is your life there? What do you usually do on a day off, for example, and how is your working life (you have fun, sometimes it’s a bit stressful, the idea doesn’t convince you at all …)

In my case, I don’t work weekends and I don’t always do the same, but I always tend to watch football, play it, have a few beers with friends and rest.

As for working life, the truth quite well, I couldn’t be happier, the colleagues are amazing.

I like the work itself, I respect the breaks, I don’t go out tired and I don’t want anything like I did in Spain and in terms of stress, it’s almost nil, only the first day, but it’s normal.

Additional comment:

I would like to highlight the accommodation problem, without a doubt the worst thing that happened with the other agency was the accommodation, being nice it was terrible and when I moved here …

I live in Waalwijk, specifically Workinn, and I really give it a 9.5 / 10.

Something I regret is not coming with you because with the other agency I quarantined completely by myself and with part of my own pocket.

I was 10 days locked in a hotel room alone, on the third day I wanted to die and talk to people from TenS Holanda who had quarantined with you, apart from the fact that it was free, people could talk to each other in how much they were together, relating and having some acquaintances to start this journey.

Siomara’s Story

Siomara was in the Canary Islands looking for work and, seeing the situation that Spain is experiencing with the current Coronavirus pandemic, she decided to look for work outside. Later, browsing the job sites, he found our offer and decided to apply.

At first, she thought that she would not be selected as her English level was very basic. Fortunately for Siomara, it was a time of high demand, a time when there is a lot of work and English is not as important as the desire and motivation that a girl like her can offer.

Before traveling, she remembers that she was nervous about learning about and adapting to a new culture, but thanks to her determination in making this decision, she was able to cope with it all.

At first she was supposed to stay a month, which is the length of the high demand season, but thanks to her good work and her devotion she was able to stay longer.

Compared to English, Siomara, in these three months she feels that she is improving a lot, especially in understanding. Between her work, where everything is spoken in English, and her roommates, who help her, she believes she has made good progress in learning the language.

In regards to her workplace, she tells us that she loves doing such an active job. Being in constant motion and burning energy from one place to another helps her a lot, in fact she tells us that she is very hyperactive.

On her rest days, however, Siomara likes to visit different cities such as Waalwijk or Tilburg with her bicycle, taking advantage of the opportunity to get to know the country. One negative that she points out was the price she paid for her bike, which cost € 150 and was second hand. However, on your return to Spagan you will be able to resell it for half of what you paid.

She now aims to rent a car to visit the Netherlands and even go to Belgium or Germany to visit her friends.

Finally, she recommends this experience as she believes it is an opportunity where they simplify things for you, earn good money and, if you have an adventurous spirit, it turns out to be very interesting.

We want to thank Siomara for her time and we sincerely hope that she will continue to be just as adventurous and enjoy this experience.

Isabella’s Story

Isabella’s story begins when some of her friends advise him to go to work in the Netherlands through TenS Holland. Her desire to live an experience abroad and to save did the rest.

She currently shares a flat with four friends who are becoming a real family for her. She tells us that every morning they wake up very early to prepare food and go to work. They arrive at around 7:00 in the morning, have breakfast and get to work.

She ensures that she is happy at work and she appreciates the three rest breaks throughout the day. Around 2:45 pm they usually finish and go home to recharge the batteries.

To get around they use a company car that the 5 share and that helps them get around without having to get cold or get wet on rainy days.

Luckily for Isabella, her father is Dutch so she speaks the language fluently. This helped her to adapt wonderfully. She says that at first it was difficult to establish a friendship with her colleagues but that little by little they improved the relationship, now finding herself comfortable with her.

The only negative aspects she told us about were the cold, which she is not used to in Spain, and the supermarket which is not too close. For the rest, she is very happy and eager to continue working there throughout the month of January.

We want to thank Isabella of TenS Holanda for taking the time to interview and we hope she continues to be just as happy enjoying the Netherlands with her friends.

David’s Story

David, from Gran Canaria, was on his island working as a diving instructor, his life’s job. Unfortunately, the current pandemic situation we are experiencing has prevented him from continuing to work and he has made the decision to go to the Netherlands to work.

The decision to go to the Netherlands and not to another country was marked by the culture of the country. David loves the mentality of the Dutch, he considers it a very developed, sustainable and modern country.

He tells us that since he got in touch with Yan (TenS Holanda’s recruiting consultant) everything has been very quick and easy. He tells us the following: “At first I thought it was very difficult to go to Holland but once you get your hands on it it’s faster than it seems”.

At first he was a little afraid of what he could find and, initially, he had planned to stay there only for a few months. Today, much happier, he wants to stay in Holland much longer than he thought a priori: “I feel I have to stay here”. Furthermore, he cares a lot about Yan’s treatment, which he considers a fundamental support as he feels close to him and helps him with any problems.

He currently shares a room and, as Yan advised him, sometimes this is a lottery. His partner is very calm and independent so he says he has no problems, even though David, who considers himself very close, would like to have more conversations with him.

In the company he is super happy, he has learned a lot and they have taught him so many things. He feels appreciated in his work and that is what matters most to him. He also tells us that if they see that you are doing well, the company focuses on you and helps you improve. He also points out that he had absolutely no problem with his salary, in fact he is living well and indulging in certain whims, such as the meals he prepares himself.

As for the English, he improves it every day and describes very well a feeling that has happened to many of us. He tells us that in the beginning it was difficult for him and he was shy, but there is a day when you click and everything just flows.

David recommends this experience to his friends and believes that Holland is full of opportunities, and leaving Spain is an experience that makes you grow as a person and gives you things you won’t experience if you stay home. It should be mandatory, it ends.

Finally, we wanted to thank David for taking his time during the interview. He has shown us that he is a person who overcomes adversity, with great adaptability and a special sympathy. We wish you to continue to be just as happy and have many successes.
